Giuseppe Antonio Miglietta

Giuseppe Antonio Miglietta from Aradeo (Lecce), enters the world of cinematography studying screenwriting, film directing and acting with Maestro Giuseppe Ferrara (I pugni in tasca, Il caso Moro, Cento giorni a Palermo, I banchieri di Dio, Giovanni Falcone).
He then attends the elocution course at “Laboratorio di Dizione della Lingua Italiana”.
Afterwards, he dedicates himself to screenwriting, favouring true, real stories, where the public can identify and recognize with the characters.
Following these convictions, he dedicates himself to writing various scripts for short films, among which "Esame Finale", produced in 2004, having as main purpose to transmit education towards legality in the school environment. The short film was presented in various national film festivals and during the TeleRama TV broadcast "In Famiglia", earning approval especially among youths.

“Making a film, for me, is like speaking, writing... it's like seeing the world as already projected on a screen”, he declares in a recent interview.

His total need to make cinema, to impress on film the own ideas, the own dreams, bring him, in 2004, to realise, both as producer-general organiser and as director, his first large-scale film, “Dimenticare mio padre”, script-written from a subject by Miglietta himself, in collaboration with Chiara Arcadi and played by Miryam Mariano, Federico Della Ducata, Piero Rapanà, Tullio Extrafallaces, Chiara Ingrosso and the young Giovanna Stefanelli.
The film, which was born by the author's subject idea, following the press conference held at Hotel Patria in Lecce and the national première at Cine Teatro Italia of Gallipoli where a sold out was recorded with the approval from critics, press and public, was successfully distributed, during the Summer, in almost fifty piazzas in the Lecce province.

During the school year 2005/2006, as external teacher at Liceo Scientifico “C. De Giorgi” of Lecce, he directed the Cinematography lab “Dall’idea all’immagine – come nasce un film” (from the idea to the image – how a film is born), a practical seminar on cinematographic language and writing.
During the school year 2006/2007, again as external teacher at I.I.S.S. “F. REDI” – I.T.C. of Campi Salentina, within the Project “Leggere Cinema” - Cinematography lab, he wrote and directed the short film “Il treno della vita”, produced by the Cinecircolo “M. Troisi” – Centro Studi Cinematografici.
The short film, which was born by the director's own subject idea and script-written in collaboration with the students of the I.T.C., tells the story of Francesca, a young teenager, who lives the discomfort of her parents' separation and is oppressed by a languid “sickness of living”.

One of his last scripts, "Al primo canto del gallo", written for a feature film together with Franco Ferrini (C’era una volta in America), already in contest at RIFF (Roma Independent Film Festival), at Sonar Film Festival 2004 and at BAFF 2004 (Busto Arsizio Film Festival), tells the drama of a young married couple, among deceptions, love, jealousy, betrayal and jail in the Salento of the '60s.

At present, together with the renowned writer Domenico Rizzi, he has written a western script titled “Sfida a Crown Valley” (Challenge at Crown Valley), taken from a subject by Rizzi himself.

Among his engagements, the realisation of the film “Al primo canto del gallo” and the writing of a new script titled “I Ragazzi Con Le Magliette A Strisce”, inspired to the events of Reggio Emilia in july 1960 and taken from Gianni Carino's book.
